Namma Bengaluru Foundation, in association with Jhatkaa.org, launched an online petition to prevent the felling of 33,000 trees for the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP). While the project aims to enhance sustainable mobility, its ecological impact is severe. NBF has urged BBMP, K-RIDE, and tree authorities to reconsider tree removal, prioritize compensatory plantation, and adhere to the Karnataka Tree Preservation Act, 1976, ensuring a balanced approach to development and environmental conservation.
